If you know my work, you know I love real moments as they happen (life unscripted) but that doesn't mean theres no room for a posed picture (as I've told you in the past)! Of course we don't really care about our clothing choices, or the hair for that matter, we're at the lake!  

This annual family picture that we've been taking at East Barriere lake has been going on since 2011, and I can't wait to see what this sequence of images will look like when the kids are adults.

To all of you out there, this is the reminder (from the pro photographer) that you don't always have to have a pro picture to keep a wonderful memory going of you and your people.  All you need to do is start taking the pic at a local or on a date that you can keep doing! Maybe by the Christmas tree, first day of school (in the Lower Mainland this is happening today!), your wedding anniversary, last day of summer vacay etc, you get the idea!

As you may or may not have been aware of, I held a contest in February Called Spread the Love and I was really excited to announce Grace Trou and her family as the winners of my A Day in the Life Session!

It was a cloudy morning in late May, when we finally got to capture her people. I should mention to you that her family was totally ready for their session that morning by NOT BEING READY! Her kids were partly in pyjamas, hair messy and breakfast was being served, my perfect walk in moment!  As it should be, right!

It was a wonderful morning, full of laughter, some tears, and many perfectly imperfect moments (including picking up dog poop!). A true day in the life session, unscripted!

Here's a glimpse of the Trou Family just being themselves, on an ordinary Saturday morning.

Journal Entry No.40 | Klutch Photography | Vancouver family photography

It seems this two day, three-night whistler/Blackcomb family adventure is becoming a "thing" every April. How lucky are we to live only two hours away from this gem, how unlucky are we that it's so expensive, lol! 

With that being said, it's our year anniversary of buying into Embarc/Diamond resorts, which we thought might be a mistake after our blood pack, not going to buy into this "timeshare stuff", five-hour meeting, signing the papers, pay for it, and then the customary buyer's remorse sets in! But in one year, we've gone on four trips using our purchased points for our international accommodations. So It's safe to say, both of us are sold on the purchase thus far! Hellllooo! Who doesn't want to travel more? oh ya, I know who, my Portuguese mother! Good thing I'm the black sheep of the family who likes to "travel", and good thing she prays for us while we're away for our safety! Got to love a paranoid Catholic mother to keep the bad travel juju away!

So a miracle happened, Amara skied this year! Thank the lord, I wonder if that was my mom's doing? She is pretty tight with the man upstairs. Like I always say, a family that skis together, (while mom does her own thing) stays together!

Also, the Embarc Whistler resort was AMAZING for families, their waterslide was almost more fun for the adults! We didn't even need to leave the resort really (except for some ciders and the cold beer and wine store for one million dollars, insert your pinky to the corner of your mouth), and we did manage to sneak out for some spectacular sushi tho from Sushi Village.  Honestly GO eat there, we all agreed that it was top three places we've ever eaten sushi at.

Again Beautiful BC for the win!
