Right of passage | Klutch Photography | Vancouver Family Photographer

She finally said those dreaded words "Can I bake some cookies mum".

Cringing because I hate baking messy's (see why here), I begrudgingly agreed.

BUT she would have to make them herself! The time had come, she needed to learn how to do it herself. I had to distract myself, to which I felt was very smart call or else I would have needed to liquid mediate myself at 11 am on this fine Saturday morning in order to get through my flour trama. And guess what, I managed to organised 10 years of recipes (more like trash them!) while she produced the standard 5 ingredient CC cookie! WINNING.

There was a substantial mess but one accomplished & happy 9-year-old and as for me... well I survived, nothing a good Portuguese cleanup couldn't cure.

She was thrilled and wanted to share her baked goods with people she appreciated (not us but others..lol...ok she did give us some but the brunt went to other adults she loves in the hood!)

It's official, she can bake cookies!

The floor is lava | Klutch Photography | Vancouver family Photographer

Ever since I watched these two friends play  "the floor is lava" game on Facebook I was hooked  (check it out here).

Time to get the girls in on this epic fun. This is the first one I did with the girls, I'm going to LOVE filming this game when we are out and about!

Well that's not safe! | Klutch Photography | Vancouver family photography

Our trampoline is a mess right now, no paddling, no net and a little rusted...so basically it's looks like everyone's trampoline from the eighties!  When guests are coming over I actually text the parents letting them know the condition of the tramp and if they give me the thumbs up I at least have some form documentation just in case!

Yesterday the girls had a friend over and while they played I decided to go have a shower before our "girls night out" with my daughters to our favourite sushi place.  When I exited my bathroom and walked into my bedroom to cover my mom body,  I could hear screaming that was well... not quite the norm!  It had a shrill of "holy fuck' it.

When I looked out the window from the second floor there they were, on the death trap with one more layer of Evil Coneval they'd added...DISH SOAP, fluffy slippery DISH SOAP!!

Well that' not safe! I thought.

I continued to get a well-needed support bra on and grab my camera. Document this moment first, deal with the situation second! So I said "welcome to the elevated 80's kids, don't break anything but if you do you can only blame yourselves!

Small risk, equals confidence (they all survived, Che' did get a kinked neck tho lol).
