more and more i find myself enjoying the ordinary, settling in to somethings odd beauty, finding the art and the everyday.  these small joys fill my sole, not sure how but it does. i wish we could all fill our soles with the beauty of everyday, perhaps the need to fill our bank accounts would lessen, the need to be busy would stop and we could just be in the moment of this sweet life we are graced to live. sigh.

Both from my parent's home, there are always flowers in a vase when i come to visit, always.  there from my mom's garden and they sit silently in the entrance, lit up at night, for me to admire as a walk by.

the pegs, always outside on the line.  they looked different that day, they called me over as a was holding my camera and the kids played behind me... artistic and simple.

Life Unscripted Family session is all about connecting with your little people, having fun, and being in the moment!

The session lasts just over an hour, on location outdoors. It's meant to capture your family as they are in their current stage of life...the good, the bad, and the beautiful!  

Your job is to just have fun with your people, and mine is to capture your authentic, beautiful selves, living life unscripted!

i remember when i told my mom the sophie died, she in her european way said "dina, don't tell amara, she can't handle it".  me being not so euopean (at times) said "that's nuts mom, she not only needs to know, she needs to grieve and honour her little friend".

7 months later, the loss of this little girl pinches us hard in the most unusual times and ways.  we have an open door policy, the girls can ask any question and talk about sophie as much as they need and want.  as long as they can handle me crying every time they do... their fine with that.

normally at this time in july we are away at the cabin starting our summer family vacation, this year we are held back by dry wall installers taking longer than planned (the ways of home renovation i suppose!).

now, i think it was the universe's plan to allow us to honour our little friend on her special "bday week".  the week has had loads of conversations from "do they celebrate birthdays in heaven" to "i wish i was there with her" (that was a hard sentence to hear) but all these conversations, a lemonade stands for the BC children's hospital (in sophie name that was all their idea) and a birthday card release up to heaven today is what i like to call healing, loving and releasing pain.

to anyone who thinks keeping death under the rug and "shh don't talk about it" attitudes,  i would highly recommend you don't take that approach. children are so smart and they to hurt in their on individual ways, they need an outlet.  help them heal through art, your ear, your real feelings and thoughts and your open door to any questions.  you never know, it might just help you heal too.

the photography product analogy | Klutch Photography | Surrey family photography

you would never go into winners, buy a basket that comes in two different colours and while at the cashier ask her to throw in the other colour basket for free because they're the same product, just in a different colour. that would be a "bit wrong and well kinda stupid" as the are separate products with separate prices. both baskets had to be made, processed and handled resulting in labor and time to make that product hence the separate price. if you wanted another colour basket from winners, you would have to pay for that product, as you should!

so remember that original photographs, different preset photographs and black & white photographs of the same image, is the same thing as different coloured baskets!  Just because you can't see or touch that product with your hands (the jpeg that is) doesn't make it any less valuable.

these different colours ways are our photography product options, OUR inventory, our stock! is all made with time, processing, labor and of course a edited with love and made in canada (that part my friends is free but the rest, needs to be payed for)!
