If I was born in the 70's (which I was) what old school teen song would I be belting out right now? That's fucking correct, I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW  by the one and only goddess of the 80's TIFFANY!

I did some alone time with my preteen yesterday and she was pan faced mortified by the whole thing.  I don't blame her tho,  the lack of lyric support on the karaoke track and my chest cold still hanging on (after a three-week unwelcome stay-BOO!) would have made the farm dogs bark if this was still Surrey 15 years ago!

So there were no Grammy awards handed out here but let be tell ya, that chicken vein was getting w-o-r-k-e-d!

I'm pretty sure I wanted to be her at one point!  But really the more concerning part of this image (from the 80's) is the tin foil reflectors, the slathered baby oil body parts and the fact that I was out there for probably 6 hours! well that explains the FINE LINES and the NOT so FINE LINES.

Eighties images, klutch photography,

BTW, YOU'RE WELCOME!! Memory lane here you go, I DARE you not to sing along!

Sometimes when your kids become fucking dicks to each other, you need to lock shit down and just circle the wagons with some family time.

My two have been less than awesome with each other these past few days and so on this "WAY TO SOON IN THE SCHOOL SEASON" pro D day presented itself I dragged these two lazy broads outside for a nature walk.  They were not pleased by my persistence of leaving the house but because I'm the ruler of the world they had no choice, we took off to a nature park in Langley.

The irony is that these two love to explore, jump and climb. They eat wild berries like there on fucking survivor. They fall in love with each other and like that dude on the commercial that was hangry and eats a Snickers bar and all normality is restored, well that whats what fucking nature does! Nature solves the "I hate you" sibling syndrome (for now).

Side note: They also got to experience some real life - a drug dealer on a bike, I hooker on a bike & an argument in the bush (by those two) and several police cars!  You think they would only see this good reality stuff in Value Village at 8:45 pm on a Friday night (It was only once that happen, they were fine! It always makes for great open door conversations)

VERY EXCITING day.  Yes children, stay in school and DON'T DO DRUGS!

You only have 18 summers with your children, how will you remember them? | Klutch Photography | Vancouver Family Photographer

As a mom I know how quickly children grow, change and move on from their  favourite toys or pastimes. It moves so fast from stuffies to graduation but  what hits home to me is you only have 18 summers with your kids before they are adults, read that again and it really hits home doesn't it!

Makes me want to document more, videotape more and hold on a little tighter because it's the truth. 18 summers is not a lot and I only have 7 left with one child and 9 left with my other!

Please don't keep waiting to get your memories captured, if you've been wanting to get family photos done, just do it. Make this be the summer you capture your littles and yourselves with them before there no longer little.

Hire a photographer, whether it be me or another wonderful photographer  you connect with but don't wait another year. Your kids certainly don't care if your 10lbs overweight or that your hairs to short!

And let's talk about the elephant in the room the cost!? Do you ever sit back and think about the money you spent on your wedding or your children's birthday parties? Probably not, but I bet you do look at the memories captured and gush at that priceless memory (as I do).

The cost of your photography sessions will fade into the other costs of living, just like food, clothing and your mortgage.

Btw, I provide three-month payment plans for most of my digital package offerings, if you need or want that option!

You only have 18 summers with your children, don't wait another summer to document your family. Make your memories as valuable as your car and your home because, in reality, they're far more important than either of them.
