Small pumpkin syndrome | Klutch Photography| Vancouver family Photographer

no matter their age (or the weather) my two girls want to pick their own enormous pumpkins (from the pumpkin patch of course because "the grocery store doesn't have BIG ASS pumpkins mom"!). i don't get this whole size thing, it's like they have small pumpkin syndrome and have to compensate by finding ones half their weight every year!!

the one thing i have learned, is you either bring your costco bag or your ikea tarp one, these are the ONLY bags that can handle the 20 to 30 pounders!

now guess who gets to wheel barrow these fuckers all the way to the car.

ya. well you know who it isn't, DAD. because today is a pro D day and dad is keeping the mortgage paid off while i get to do an arm workout!

SIDE NOTE- I do make them carry there pumpkins to the hayride wagon and that folks is PRICELESS!

Storm chasing | Klutch Photography | Vancouver family photographer

as the worst wind and rain storm in 50 years (so they're saying) thunders down upon us, most folks are making the right choice in getting cozy with a hot cup of coco and a good movie!

not us.

we get inappropriately dressed, and hit the ocean for a photo session!  Perhaps it's that I'm pissed off that I had to reschedule a full day of quickie sessions tomorrow because of this beastly wind and rain that got me (and my camera) all fired up to do battle with it this evening or maybe its just to add another layer to the girls onions. probably both! either way, it was memorable.

Blackie Spit was about 50% washed out, it was an incredible site.

My kids rocked their low-tec summer like a boss | Klutch Photography | Vancouver family photographer

my kids don't own a phone, ipod,  ipad....or a computer.  their 10 (soon to be 11) and 8.

why the fuck should they!?  they're kids!?

steve jobs (the co-founder & CEO of apple) had a low tec family. why? because technology & kids (in large quantities) don't mix well and i agree!  numerous studies have shown this to be true and to be perfectly honest...it's hard enough monitoring tv time and the xbox- let alone fighting over hand help MOBILE devices.

here's the thing, your a kid...GO PLAY OUTSIDE!

or draw,  or play red rover, go jump on your tram(oline), go play with your friends...and yes CALL them on the PHONE, you know that thing that's connected to the wall by wires!

and guess what- they did, with no real complaints...they rocked their low-tec summer like a boss. i absolutely love their child like imaginations and wonder without it being technology fuelled. yes, they got into boat loads of trouble and it was all good trouble, kids exploring their world trouble! i'll take that any day over a quiet plugged in child zombie.

my kids will have MANY years to use technology but sadly they only have a few years left to just be children doing child like things!
